Free/Reduced Meal Applications and Student Lunch Prices for School Year 2022-2023

Free/Reduced Meal Applications and Student Lunch Prices for School Year 2022-2023

Schools have been able to offer breakfast and lunch at no charge to students during the last two school years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as we transition out of the pandemic, the U.S. Congress did not extend the authority of the U.S. Department of Agriculture to continue providing meals at no charge to all students regardless of income.

Therefore, the Jasper County School Nutrition Program is requesting all families complete and submit a Free and Reduced Meal Application if you believe your student(s) are eligible. You can submit an application at any time during the school year, but we encourage all families to submit one during the first two weeks of school to ensure your benefits are processed quickly. Only one application should be submitted per household.

The Jasper County Charter System will not increase student lunch prices to begin the year.  Breakfast will continue to be offered at no charge to all students regardless of income at all schools. Student lunch prices will remain $1.50 for Preschool and Primary School, $1.75 for Washington Park Elementary School, and $2.00 for the Middle and High Schools.

For any questions concerning Free and Reduced Meal Applications or student meal pricing, please contact Mary Richardson, School Nutrition Director, at 706-468-6350. The Jasper County School Nutrition Program is looking forward to serving our families this school year.

Applications will be handed out during Open House and will be sent home on the first day of school.
