Vaping Procedure

 

The JCCS Alternative Learning Opportunity vaping procedure is zero tolerance. As outlined on page 36 of the Jasper County Chater School District Handbook…School officials may search a student if there is reasonable suspicion the student is in possession of an item that is illegal or against school rules or is in possession of evidence that the student broke the law or violated school rules.

 

 The following consequences will be issued if a student is caught in possession of or using a vape. All Vapes WILL be tested.

 

First Offense: EFFECITIVE IMMEDIATELY …The Superintendent of Jasper County Charter School System has issued a new Vaping Policy. Beginning October 2, 2023, if a student is found guilty of possessing a Vape on school grounds or school events (including transportation provided by JCCS) during placement in the alternative setting with initial placement occurring during the second semester (December 16, 2023-End of School Year, then the student will be placed immediately in a virtual platform until December 2025.
