Mrs. Denise S. Parker
Hi! I am Denise Sauls Parker, a proud Hurricane fan! I have been teaching at Jasper County High School since 2007. Go CANES! I grew up in Monticello and was educated in Jasper County schools. I returned home after graduating from Mercer University. I am married and my husband and I have two children, Anna and Will. Anna is a 2016 graduate of JCHS and currently attends the University of Georgia. Anna is a proud member of Redcoat Band where she marches piccolo. Will is a SENIOR in high school. He is a member of the school's shotgun competition team.
After teaching for a number of years, I decided to pursue another field in education, Special Education. I returned to college and earned my MAT (Masters of Arts in Teaching) in Special Education. Having grown up with a sister who has special needs, I developed a passion for people with special needs. My heart longed to teach and encourage those students who needed to learn with different approaches to education. I have taught in Special Education as a co-teacher in the general education class room and a class room teacher for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Currently, I am teaching high school students with severe learning disabilities, and I am loving these precious students!
I graudated from Mercer university with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and Chemistry. I also have a Master's degree in teaching special education from Georgia College and State University. This is my 22nd year in education. Prior to teaching special education, I taught high school science, middle grades (6th-8th) language arts and science. I am certified in Middle Grades Science, Special Education General Curriculum P-12, and Special Education Adaptive Curriculum.
