Ms. Lianna Nix
I am looking forward to an amazing year with my students and colleagues.
For those who do not know me, I am a veteran teacher who has taught a good bit of everything from grades 5-10. I began as a middle school math teacher in Jasper County many years ago and moved around a bit to help launch innovative new programs in Baldwin, Hall, and Clayton Counties. I have served as the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Program Director of Rex Mill Middle School's STEM Academy at RMMS, which became the second such middle school program in the state to receive Georgia's STEM certification. Currently I am teaching a reading intervention class and ELA, and I assist with the high school's literary team and spring musical events.
One may rightly assume that I have a broad range of interests and remain a lifelong learner. It is my goal to inspire our kids to CARE about their lives, families, community, and the world, and to become smart enough to ACT within those spheres of influence because they CARE. I am unashamedly passionate about doing so, believing that I have been called and empowered to do so.
