Great news!  The GADOE Mathematics Team has released new 2020 Guides for Effective Mathematics Instruction to support K-12 mathematics teachers and students as they transition back to school during the 2020-2021 school year.

Also, new videos and updated curriculum frameworks have been released for the 2020-2021 school year.  These are all available on https://www.georgiastandards.org/Georgia-Standards/Pages/Math.aspx. A summary of edits can be found in the Mathematics Resource Document Edits summary document found on each grade level page.  Eighteen new standards videos have been added to the list of on-demand professional learning videos for the grade levels to support teachers with the implementation of the Georgia Standards of Excellence in Mathematics.

All new mathematics resources, remote learning chats, and guidance documents can be found at www.gadoe.org/mathematics, and all classroom videos, mathematics curriculum frameworks tasks, and parent letters can be found on www.georgiastandards.org.

We hope you find these resources beneficial as you begin another academic year.

    Professional Organizations

By joining a professional teaching organization, you will have the opportunity to network with other concerned educators. If you want to stay up to date in the field of education, then it is beneficial to join at least one professional organization for teachers.

From the first day of a teacher preparation program to the last day on the job, ASCD supports educators regardless of their years of service, positions, or titles. We're committed to helping educators enhance their crafts and enhance their roles by providing high-quality, research-based resources and support they can trust.

ASCD strives to expand our influence as an international organization that is widely recognized for helping educators define, support, and engage in the development of highly effective learning systems.

Educators everywhere have a vision to change the world—one child at a time. It's our vision, too. Supporting the whole child is at the core of our mission and everything we do at ASCD as we work to ensure that each student is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.
